Some scams are legal ... they depend on the greed and ignorance of buying
For example, in this Sunday's paper:
.5 gram 24 carat pure gold Australian Kangaroo commemerative coins were offerred in a full page ad in the Parade magazine insert at as low as $69.99 plus ship and handling{unstated amount}if ordering 20 or more.
Do the math ...
Scam prices for pure gold for the math challenged...all legal.

Whenever they start talking "karats", it means gold-plated only.
It really should not be legal to advertise something as "pure gold" when it's not.
That's an outright lie.
Parade magazine should be fined for publishing something that dishonest.
