From 9/11/06 Keith Olbermann made an excellent speech on this 5th anniversary of 9/11, regarding the malignant politicization 9/11 by the Bush dictatorship. This is the kind of media coverage of Bush that has been completely absent since January 2001. Congratulations to Keith for speaking out. Hopefully more will join him. Olbermann is quickly becoming the Edward R. Murrow of our generation. Just the other day he nailed Rummy but good. CBS should have hired him instead of the blonde, although it's hard to think he could do any better as an anchor than the format he has now. GB

Olbermann is excellent.
He was also the only commentator who discussed the fraudulent Ohio results after the 2004 Presidential election.
His latest speech, prior to Bush's "state of the dictatorship" address, was remarkable. It was exactly the kind of speech I would have expected to come from our Democratic Party representatives, who instead offer their timid, understated criticisms of Bush -- worried that they might offend some "conservative" voters.
The Democrats are so passive in their disagreement with Bush policy, that they are being overshadowed in their criticism of Bush by traditionally more "conservative" voices such as Paul Craig Roberts and Pat Buchanan.
What will it take for the Democratic Party to take a stand and say "We need to get out" of Iraq, instead of acquiescing to the NeoCon-Artist talking points?
We need to set a timetable. Period. Invading Iraq was a complete mistake, and has been a miserable failure. Anyone who voted for the war made an unqualified mistake, and needs to just admit it, instead of trying to justify it "because they were misled."
The intelligence was manipulated by the Bush dictatorship ("administration"). Democrats need to just say so and move on.
Even with the faulty intelligence available before the Iraq "war," there was NO justification for invasion. Due to Iraq's location, they couldn't possibly have ever been a direct threat to the U.S. We knew then, as we do now, they had no means to hit the U.S. with any type of WMD, regardless of whether they actually had any WMDs or not. They didn't have any long-range missiles. They didn't have any submarines that could deliver them from right off our shores. In other words, if they had everything the Bush dictatorship claimed they had, they still were not a threat to the people of the United States.
The only threat (or even potential threat) was to American Corporate interests in the Middle East. That's what the war was all about in the first place. To protect American business interests in the Middle East, and to even expand them further into Iraq.
Shame on Democrats for not just saying this in so many words. Hooray for Keith Olbermann, for filling the void left by our cowardly Democratic Party representatives. Hooray for those few on the Right, such as Paul Craig Roberts, Pat Buchanan, and even Tucker Carlson, for their assistance in challenging the Bush dictatorship's position on Iraq.
Wake up, Democrats, and seize the day. A November victory has been handed to you on a silver platter.
Democrats need to stop "herding cats" and start "herding lions."
