CSR involves a shift away from the time-honored single bottom-line approach and marks a significant shift towards a “triple-bottom-line approach.” This new approach strikes a balance between social, environmental, and economic values, or in trendier terms: people, planet, and revenue. I was with you until you drifted into your proto-typical Globalization rationalization.
In fact, the biggest abrogation of "social responsibility" in the US is the firing of US workers and their replacement with low-waged workers in China and other foreign countries--increasing Corporate profits at the expense of labor costs--labor cost savings that result from eliminating American Worker/Labor income entirely.
Globalization & Outsourcing are THE most socially ir-responsible business activities in the world today.
And you're one of their biggest advocates, Noel.
Start advocating that Chinese workers get paid the equivalent of American minimum wages, and I'll start listening to what you have to say.
