Blueneck,
Are you aware that the Drum Major Institute is a militant advocate of Amnesty & Open Borders?
I read their section on "Immigration" and it really turned my stomach. They posted the usual pseudo-intellectual BS, none of which made any sense.
I think you should check out what they have to say on "immigration."
They imply that the increase in our labor force size by 12 million has no effect on employment or wages of Americans. As far as I'm concerned, such a claim completely eliminates their credibility on everything else.
It's amazing how the Amnesty/Open Borders crowd claim that the laws of labor supply & demand don't apply to illegal immigration.
They're just as bad as Bush, when it comes to creating their own reality. In the case of illegal immigration, their alternate reality is that increasing the labor force supply has no effect on labor price (wages). In addition, the replacement of higher-wage American workers with lower-wage illegal immigrants has no effect on American wages or employment.
It's insane to claim that the employment of 7 million illegal immigrants doesn't drive down the wages of the remaining 139 million legal workers, and doesn't cut into the employment of our 232 million working age population.
If the Democrats don't stop pandering to illegal immigrants and their employers, they're going to lose the general election. The majority of American voters want illegal immigration stopped, or at least greatly reduced.
It's time for the Democrats to start "pandering" to mainstream middle class Americans and workers, instead of pandering to everyone else but.

With ya on that. I totally disagree with their immigration agenda.
They do have some good info on progressive taxation, economic fairness and social justice however
