In the midst of the 2nd Great Depression, Frito-Lay has decided to cheat customers by reducing the size of its $1.29-bags of cheetos (They should change their name to "cheat-os").
Previously the $1.29 bag had 4½ servings. They've recently reduced it to 4 servings. So any customers that don't read the bag constantly (like I do) will think they're getting the same amount of cheetos for $1.29.
It just isn't enough for the slimeballs at Frito-Lay to produce their food in another country, while deceiving customers that their products are made in the US by putting their Corporate address of Plano, TX, on the package. Using cheap foreign labor, coupled with declining corn prices, just isn't reaping high enough profits for Frito-Lay's greedy, unpatriotic management.
I encourage everyone to boycott their products (If you're not doing so already.) If you like potato chips or cheetos, it's a tough boycott. Frito-Lay has bought out most of its competitors so it has almost no competition in the US market.
But Frito-Lay is really at the bottom of the pit. They've outsourced their production to cheap labor markets (while trying to deceive customers to the contrary), and have recently reduced the size of their packages without changing the price. And this has latter has occurred when the cost of production is actually declining. (Corn prices have declined, energy prices have declined, and global wages have stagnated.)
I urge you to boycott Frito-Lay. They deserve nothing but the worst.

Try eating grape tomatoes or strawberry tomatoes instead of chips. They're a great nibble.

If you need a chip fix, check for locally made chips. We've got a lovely brand that some of the grocers sell that's made IN Alaska, and they're delicious and healthier than the crud the big companies put out. But, if even that doesn't suit you try making your own! I've got a thing for tortilla chips, so we just get a big package of tortillas, cut them up and fry them. If you know how, you could even make your own tortillas. All I know is, the homemade variety of chips taste better than anything from any big company. Mmmm.

It's time we got back to healthy eating anyway. People have so overcomplicated food in this country. After buying loads of prepackaged stuff like boxed mac and cheese, and canned soups, I've come to the conclusion that most of it really is overcooked, dead crap. I've quit buying a lot of convenience foods.
A friend of mine was amazed that I never buy canned chicken. Stop and think: how hard is it, really, to put a chicken in water, and put it on the stove? It takes a very short time to boil it, and it tastes significantly better.
I think they have us WAY oversold on "conveniences".
