Overdraft feesnot anymore=) This is beyond awesome- i'd have to say i've been charged somewhere near $300 in overdraft fees since 2000. Compliance isn't mandatory until July 1, 2010. Why isn't it mandatory sooner--say as of December 1. 2009? Is the Fed worried that the poor banks will have to stop gouging us too soon? Actually, I know what the real answer is. It's to allow time for someone to protest or alter their ruling, so that it really never goes into effect. That's exactly what California did with the law that would have held HMOs themselves liable for malpractice when they overruled a doctor's decision. The law was scheduled to go into effect 4-5 years after it was passed. By the time the effective date came to pass, the law had been watered down so much that it was worthless. That's exactly what the Fed is doing by delaying the mandatory compliance date to July 1, 2010. By that time enough Wall Street oligarchs will have paid off enough Congressional plutocrats to have passed rules and regulations to completely nullify the Fed's dubious ruling. And this is by design. It has nothing to do with "giving the banks time" to "make the necessary changes" to implement it. The banks could stop this in 24 hours if they had to. But they don't. That's the way the Fed wanted it. We need to abolish the Fed and pass a Constitutional amendment completely and permanently outlawing its re-creation in any way, shape, or form.

I remember when fees used to be 5 bucks, then 7, then 10, then 12, then 20, then 24 and then 35 all in about 18 months time.
I think the bank that did 35 moved them back to 20 cuzz so many people left.
they just kept raising them until the sheeple started to sequel.

either way- I really need to drop BofA, because when they stop making money on the Overdraft charges, they are just going to increase the monthly charges.

I closed my Bank of America account about 2 months ago. The only thing I liked about them is they had a branch that was walking distance from where I live.
They took over all my MBNA credit card accounts and raised the rates. I know longer have those credit cards either.
