I think I have general, basic way to determine jobs lost to outsourcing. It's based on $$ of Spending ÷ Total Employment. For example, if total employment is 139 million and total spending is $10 trillion, then it $$ per Job would be: $10,000,000,000 ÷ 139,000,000 jobs = $71,942/job. (This comes out pretty close to some previous estimates posted on the forum.) For a trade deficit of -$400 billion, jobs lost would be -5.56 million. These aren't the exact numbers, but they're in the ball park. If anybody has a different idea, or some modifications to this, let me know. ------------------ Personal Spending, Feb 2010: $10.7 trillion Total Employment, March 2010: 138.9 millionTrade Deficit 2009: -$378.6 billion

Let me re-calculate: $10.7 trillion ÷ 138.9 million jobs = $77,000/job -$378.6 billion trade deficit ÷ 1 job/$77,000 = -4.917 million jobs
