Couple days ago on the Short History Channel was "Engineering Disasters", love that show. They were doing a story on the BP oil spill and did an equation, they equated the oil lost to 700,000 American homes being powered for 1 year. Fantastic, considering we don't burn oil to power our homes cause oil is too valuable to burn in a power plant.
Conversely, stories on home energy efficiency are also equated to how our dependence on "foreign energy" could be reduced. Fantastic, considering we don't import electricity and we produce all the electrical power we could ever need for thousands of years. It doesn't matter how many lights you turn off in your house, we're still going to be importing oil.
Sloppy writing or deliberate propaganda?

Considering your typos or misspellings, I vote for sloppy writing... GB
