More proof that the unemployment rate is a lie lies in the job growth and unemployment figures of the past 4 administrations.
Carter: 8.93 million private sector jobs Unemployment: 5.6%-7.6%
Reagan: 14.46 million private sector jobs Unemployment: 5.3%-10.8%
Bush I: 4.09 million private sector jobs Unemployment: 5.2%-7.4%
Clinton: 20.86 million private secrot jobs Unemployment: 7.3%-3.9%
Bush: 4.26 million private sector jobs Unemployment: 6.3%-4.4%
Job growth in the Bush "recovery" is on pace to teach about 6 million. There is no way that such a poor number can result in full employment. Since the previous job growth numbers are consistent with the unemployment rate at the time, I have to conclude that the unemployment rate is being manipulated. It is likely over 10%. BTW, our labor force has grown significantly since the Carter administration, so Bush's job growth record is even worse than it looks.

It's actually much worse than you stated. Between Jan.01 and Dec.06, the economy only added 3.4 net new jobs. Along with 3 mil. manufacturing job losses, the "Information" sector lost 638K jobs, "Computer Systems Design and Related" lost 46k jobs. "Engineering and Architecture" only added 129k jobs. These industries were supposed to have added millions of new jobs in the "new economy". Turns out it was all a farse. www.mbginfosvcs.com/pdfs/usjobs.pdf
