Below is a link to an article by Paul Krugman titled Emerging Republican Minority. Krugman makes the case that it is income inequality that is really cutting into Republican membership and popularity, not scandals. Though scandals aren't helping the Republican cause, disenchantment with their favoritism and advocacy for the wealthy is eating away at their support. www.truthout.org/docs_2006/032607E.shtml

Its about frickin' time. I often wonder why so many working people tend to vote republican (or pro global democrats for that matter) despite the fact that they are clearly voting against their own economic interests, allowing themselves to be suckered in by wedge issues such as gay marriage and abortion.
