In writing a post, it is sometimes helpful to use a symbol that is not available on a standard keyboard, such as "—" or "÷", to make the post easier to read. For that reason, I'm posting a list of the unique symbols I've been able to save thus far. Any additions and contributions are appreciated. (I'm still looking for an " approximately = " symbol—the one that has a "~" above the "=" sign.) ÷ — (can be used instead of "--") — ¢ § (Sometimes this only works if there's a space on both sides of the " — " ) ≠ (not equal to) _this can also be keyed in by typing, (without spaces), the following 6 keys: " & # 8 8 0 0 ; " ≤ (less than or equal to, as in 4 ≤ 8) _this can also be keyed in by typing, (without space), the following 6 keys: " & # 8 8 0 4 ; " ≥ (greater than or equal to, as in 8 ≥ 4) _this can also be keyed in by typing, (without space), the following 6 keys: " & # 8 8 0 5 ; " s.wsj.net/img/icon_smaller.gif s.wsj.net/img/icon_larger.gif£ (British Pound) € (Euro) ¢ ¾ ½ ¼ ± I¡¯ ¯ ¡° ° © µ ¶ Ø ø ø » « ® × • ° (raised) º (raised) ° (raised) ¹ (raised) ² (raised) ³ (raised) º² ß ñ Ø ¿ The symbols listed below have only limited use at best, but I've included them anyway. á É Ó é í ô
