most people don't know how to use them esp. illegal mexicans. They work wonderful for drivers that know engwish. but for others that get hit by them dumbshits, God help you. greybeard will just tell you to put your helmet on when your in your car so it don't cost us legals more when you go to the hospitals.

There are far more roundabouts in Mexico's cities than in US cities, so the illegals argument is stupid.
Police in Socalif are now running traffic blocks and impounding uninsured cars. The cost to retrieve the impounded car is far more than the cost of insurance would have been. Better have your proof of insurance, or your bond.
Now, if we would just deport all illegals who enter emergency rooms for other than life threatening conditions, it would go a long way to saving our medical system.

For a realy memorable time, go to one of the caribean islands or someplace else where they drive on the left and after a few beers go for a drive out to one of the local roundabouts. Its all the fun of typical rotaries and much more because everything is coming at you backwards

I'm picturing everyone on this board on the same "round-about" at the same time. We'd fail. It'd be a glorious spectacle:
xtra: *driving up to roundabout* a roundabout? I know how to use these, after all, i speak engwish
graybeard: *driving up to roundabout* a roundabout? so glad i hired an illegal immigrant to drive me around for the day, he'll know how to use one of these. Added bonus- I'm keeping him out of an emergency room
UnLC: *driving straight through the intersection, and ends up on the island in the center* WHO THE FUCK PUTS A HILL IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION!
nomad943: a roundabout? haven't seen one of these since i was in the carribean *promptly turns left*
xtra:see what i mean *yells out the window* drive engwish mothewfuckew!
nomad943: that dude is as drunk as I am
txdirtfarmer: UnLC, you're parked in my crops man
Judes: call me petty, but i just can't stand how roundabouts make me feel.
proletariat: if they aren't going to put up a stop light at this intersection, then why the hell do we have to obey a speed limit too?! *accelerates*
agito: I knew this day would come when i received that letter from john cleese! *snaps on nascar helmet*
xtra: you stole graybeards helmet!
Graybeard: *narrowly missing nomad's car* did i hire the wrong mexican?
UnLC: damnit, I'll pay for a fucking stoplight, just help me get off this island!
Txdirtfarmer: my tractor would be able to do it, need everyone to stop though
proletariat: no- speed up speed up! the faster everyone goes, the sooner we'll all be out of here
agito: *completing eighth lap* I agree!
Graybeards mexican driver: Esta gringo son muy loco. Para conoces a ir mejico?
Graybeard: el-o turn-o around-o
xtra: spweak engwish
nomad943: I am speaking english you carribean motherfucker!
jeffolie: I predict this will end in 2012
agito: 2:12? what time is it now?
judes: 1:08
agito: an hour long race? this is going to take forever!
proletariat: not if we drive faster!
txdirtfarmer: UnLC, mind watering my crops for me, i can't seem to make it to the island
proletariat: you'd be able to if you drove faster!
txdirtfarmer: i'm driving a TRACTOR
xtra: try driving the other way!
txdirtfarmer: no way- i'm not Caribbean!
nomad: me neither!
agito: neither am i
proletariat: Caribbeans drive too slow!
graybeards mexican: Quiero vayamos a caribbean
judes: it's 1:12
Jeffolie: no 2012!
UnLC: i'm surrounded by idiots.
(apologies to those i left out, i know you would have wanted to join the fun)

loved it...... didnt know they had different laws for different states...that dont make no sense all the roundabouts ive encountered have a sign, on them that tell you the outside lane is for the immediate right or 2nd exit, all others use the inside lane... its pretty straight forward, but every week we have illegals in a wreck with their shinny new trucks that crash into each other cuzz they cant read engwish. ;D

Actually, I hate roundabouts.
In California, they're like knife fights--there are no rules.

LOL Agito My first real experience with them was in the UK - they seem to know how to do them there. If used correctly they save fuel and keep traffic moving eliminating sitting idle at a stop light, but thats the problem, like 4-way stops no one knows how to do them - keep moving and merge into the circular traffic. I have seen bozos trying to go the wrong way even though there are tons of arrows and "wrong way" signs or come to dead stops and screw up the whole works. At 4 ways no one knows that its first in/first out or yield to the left Which leads to my argument for the above Blueneck - "we need more driver training, stricter licensing requirements, enforcement and more viable mass transit"

thanks for the positive feedback guys.
yeah- there are several traffic circles in the LA area- one in long beach (which is so notorious that people refer to it as "the traffic circle" when giving directions), one in venice that looks like a real piece of crap, one rinkydink one in culver city that is an intersection the size of a normal residential intersection and really should just be a 4 way stop sign (picture a sign right in the middle of the intersection and nothing else to the island).
But yeah- i hate them and i think they are fun.
