I have taken the position of opposing the Afganistan war quite a while ago. Now opposing Obama's war is becoming more popular. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ The 25-nation Pew Global Attitudes survey in June 2009 continued to find that the war in Afghanistan is unpopular in most nations[9] and that most publics want American and NATO troops out of Afghanistan.[10] The 2009 global survey reported that majorities or pluralities in 18 out of 25 countries want U.S. and NATO to remove their military troops from Afghanistan as soon as possible.[9] (Changes from 2008 included Tanzania, South Africa, and Australia having been replaced by Israel, Kenya, the Palestinian Territories, and Canada in the survey, and shifts in opinions in India and Nigeria.) In only 4 out of 25 countries was there a majority that favoured keeping U.S. and NATO military troops in Afghanistan - the U.S. (57%), Israel (59%), Kenya (56%), and Nigeria (52%).[9] Despite American calls for NATO allies to send more troops to Afghanistan, there was majority or plurality opposition to such action in every one of the NATO countries surveyed: Germany (63% disapprove), France (62%), Poland (57%), Canada (55%), Britain (51%), Spain (50%), and Turkey (49%).[11] en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_public_opinion_on_the_war_in_Afghanistan

I don't know anyone that supports Bushs/Obamas war on terror
do you?
Just look around you, do you see any flags?
when was the last time you saw a flag that wasn't on a government building, sports stadium or car lot?
I haven't scene more than maybe 20 flags in the last 5 years, thats including the 4th and veterans day.
I remember after 911, flags were everywhere, now.....
zilch, nawda, nowhere.
to me, thats a better indicator than a poll.

I thought during the election campaign that most people were in favor of the Afghanistan War. I'm sure glad to see that's not the case, at least not now.
The Afghanistan "war" no longer has any purpose whatsoever--assuming it ever had one in the first place.

This is what happens when you have a all-vol military - they become expendables like the clone troopers in the Star Wars movies. Nobody gives a rats ass when they buy it and since the war's cost is put on the national credit card it further insulates the people from feeling any pain. No war tax nor cut back on consumption, etc.
A pain free war.
Its further helped by a idiot press corps that doesn't know the difference between a MRE and M-4 carbine. The dumbshits can't ask the right questions or know when they are being fed a load of crap by some clown with campaign ribbons. This all but guarantees the public will know next to nothing.
The key to ending this war is ending the careers of many congresspukes starting with Reid, Hoyer, Pelosi, Murtha and Schumer - essentially all the war mongers who okaye'd it. Of course it won't happen since Democrats never vote out one of their own regardless of what sort of criminal scumbags they are. Nor does there seem to be any support among among dimmycrats to end the war. They are just as pro-war as Limbaugh is.
So my guess is we will be there until one of these scenarios happens: 1) Pakistan loses its nukes and Kabul and 10k of our troops get flash fried. 2) Pakistan goes into full bad guy or Jihad mode and cuts off our logistics support for Afghanistan(with Paki bases the war ends). Its already very tenuous. 3)We suffer some sort of military defeat(more likely betrayal by local forces in which many are captured or killed and already has happened in Iraq). That would be a disaster PR wise.
