This is going to be one of those issues that doesn't go away anytime soon. And emotions always tend to go overboard when drunk driving is involved. LinkBut what i really disagreed with is the reasoning Roberts presented to the reporter: "Roberts noted that close to 13,000 people die in alcohol-related car crashes a year, which equals to one death every 40 minutes." in judicial parlance, this is "immaterial." The only factor that matters is whether any citizen has the right to violate another citizen's rights by phoning in bogus tips that gives cops the ability to make stops they otherwise could not have made.
