I've read large part of the Health Care reform bill pushed through by Obama, and I'm sick and tired of hearing the nonsense about how it's going to save money. It makes no sense, regardless of what the lying, corrupt Congressional Budget Office says.
Just how is it going to "save" money? That's never been explained. You don't save money when you provide an additional service. If they're referring to all the money they're going to "save" from Medicare, that's complete economic science fiction. And even if they could save that kind of money on Medicare, it would require a large reduction is services provided.
The notion that there is all of this "fraud & waste" in Medicare is hogwash. Instead of Obama's slogan being "change you can believe it", it should be called "lies you can believe in."
There's not 1 single dollar of defined "savings" in the plan. It's all wild guesswork and unsubstantiated fantasy.
Show us the specific "savings." Show us exactly where Obama's Health Care Reform plan will actually save money.
In fact, the exact opposite is true. It will greatly increase the cost of medical care, since the "mandate" will result in a forced increase in demand for health insurance. Increasing demand raises prices and costs.
Subsidizing health insurance for those that can't afford it raises governmental (and taxpayer) costs.
If they want to actually "save" money, they need to start by revoking the individual Mandate.
If they want to save even more money, implement a privately paid-for, Government administered Public Option--where premiums, deductibles, and co-pays completely cover anticipated annual costs for that age range. This would cost taxpayers NOTHING, and would provide a lower-cost option that would compete with private insurance--and thus drive private insurance prices downward.
