Security gurus have discovered that the Apple Iphone and Ipad track your location, etc and record the info for later download. Link: www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-apple-tracking-20110421,0,4880695.story Apple never told anyone. And there is no way to turn it off. It's built into the OS. But it gets better, the inbred idiots and drooling jackasses that compose the Apple user community are excited over this. They think it's great people can access their private info at will. I would hope this kills closed sourced OS'es like Windows. But I doubt it, people evidently love exposing themselves like a bunch of desperate for attention loons online - witness the popularity of BullyBook(Facebook). Why Bullybook? It's the great new medium to bully and terrorize young people with who were stupid enough to put themselves on that site. You know even if Apple put a 2oz charge of TNT in each Iphone and it blew peoples head off randomly when they were talking on it, people would think it's a feature. Stinking lemmings.

Thanks for sharing this, Walt.
Not that I ever planned on buying an iPad or iPhone, but I definitely won't buy one now.
According to the article, Apple did add a phrase to its privacy policy disclosing that it would "collect, use and share precise location data, including the real-time geographic location of your Apple computer or device." However, if that phrase is buried in the typically lengthy documents that come with user agreements, it's unlikely most people even noticed it.
As far as I'm concerned, this kind of technology is taking society backwards. People are on their electronic contraptions most of their waking hours, distracting them from everything else their doing. I'd say that having & using a cell phone the way most people are doing today drops their functional IQ by at least 10-20 points.
At least some people are beginning to appreciate how much cell phones and related gadgetry are detracting from civilization. In central Texas, where I'm currently working, a number of stores have signs posted that say "no cell phone use in store." There are also signs up in the hospital where I'm working, which prohibit cell phone use. On the parking permit to enter the facility where I work, it states cell phone use is prohibited while driving--further stating it's a $75 fine if caught doing so. It's also illegal (and publicly posted) to use a cell phone anywhere near a school.
Maybe there's still hope for society.

Who gets this info ?
