China sabotaged the U.S. Navy with 59,000 "back-door" microchips = cyberwar
Denninger's rant is a little over the top but not by alot ... China attacked: Navy sabotaged by 59,000 "back-door" chips
If Lybia is not war but merely 'kenetic actions' then this is not war but merely 'cyber war actions' by China
China Has Declared War On The United States
That's not a misprint folks.
Last year, the U.S. Navy bought 59,000 microchips for use in everything from missiles to transponders and all of them turned out to be counterfeits from China.
Wired reports the chips weren't only low-quality fakes, they had been made with a "back-door" and could have been remotely shut down at any time.
Got it folks? Let me simplify that for you.
The Chinese sold to The American Navy microchips that contained "back doors" that allowed them to shut down their functionality remotely. That is, they attacked our military through back-door, surreptitious means.
That's a declaration of war folks.
When do we stop sucking off the Chinese and tell them to pound sand on their alleged "full faith and credit" US Treasuries? Will it be before or after they formally attack America and her military?
If the latter how can you argue that this event did not already occur?
Excerpt: Federal prosecutors in Washington unsealed charges Tuesday accusing a Florida pair of selling more than 59,000 counterfeit computer microchips from China to the U.S. Navy and other clients for military use aboard American warships, fighter planes, missile and antimissile systems.
Shannon L. Wren, 42, of Treasure Island, Fla., and an employee, Stephanie A. McCloskey, 38, of Clearwater Beach, were named in a 10-count indictment handed up last Wednesday by a federal grand jury in the U.S. District Court of the District of Columbia.
The chips were caught during inspection and so never got installed anywhere.
Blame Clinton for the mess. He opened up the acquisition process to allow the military to buy COTS, ostensibly to save money.
Instead it allowed every fraudster with a internet account to bid on military contracts.
I've personally seen this when I worked for the AF, the AF would put out a contract for say 400 personal computers and the lowest bidder would win and the next thing I'd see is a delivery of 400 pieces of shit that had a life expectancy of a month.

jeffolie: Yes, the ETF features fading/leveraged decay because the futures and/or options used decay plus the administrative costs rise the decay, declining value ... I accept this as a cost and feature of all ETFs that purchase futures/options to maintain price
