Date: 11-11-11, Veteran's day. Like my father before me, I am a veteran. I appreciate the efforts and often hardships of veterans especially recently discharged who often were injured mentally, physically and stygmized with joblessness.

Likewise. My father barely missed the 1918 draft, but my 3 older brothers served in wars, and I was drafted and served 1965-7.
Take your DD-214 or other docs, and go get a free meal at Applebees or other places. I think Los Al is serving free lunches today.
This is the holiday I love to rant about: Students, banksters and most others feeding at the public trough get the day off, whle we vets in the private sector work, just as any other day.

GB I got drafted during Vietnam, served 1970 to 1972 which interrupted my UCLA Law School which I finished in 1974 during a raging recession leading upto the raging inflation due to in part war debts incurred because the govt did not pay for the unpopular war by special, limited 'war taxation' but ran up the deficits/debt. The 1970s further punished veterans with 'Disco' music.
