Here's another poll on illegal immigration from Democratic Underground. Once again, from a site considered to be extremely "liberal" and "left-wing," over 80% opposed the Senate's Comprehensive Amnesty Bill.

This is one of the two main issues that are largely ignored by the left, progressives, media and democratic elites - issues that clearly go against the will and interest of the people. And they are both intertwined - illegal immigration and job offshoring - all part of the neo-liberal/meo-CON open border- one world govt and corporate fascism that the elites of both parties are pushing for.
In fact its pretty common place for left leaning sites to bury, downplay, or outright censor dissention on trade and immigration among their own ranks - it happens all the time on Huffington Post and DU and other sites of this nature. HuffPoo for example might occassionally post a Sirota article or other article questioning trade liberalization- and as soon as it starts getting activity POOF! its gone.

Blueneck,
You hit the nail right on the head.
One reason I keep posting these polls is to let other Progressives and Populists know that most of us vigorously oppose all elements of the Corporatist, One-World Government cheap labor lobby.
Anti-Amnesty, anti-Open Borders viewpoints are certainly discourage at Democratic Underground, though they still manage to surface. To my knowledge, over the last year, over 25 anti-amnesty members have been banned at DU. There are probably many more that I'm not aware of.
I wasn't aware that Sirota's posts at Huffington were being removed. I did notice, however, that his anti-free trade posts are difficult to find again at a later date. Their removal would certainly explain this phenomena.
I suspect that Ron Paul's militantly anti-Cheap Labor Lobby positions are part of the reason for his popularity.

That is a good service you do documenting these types of polls - eliminates the plausible deniability.
I guess I can't say with 100% certainty they actually wipe them out, but you are correct that any posts like Sirota's and others who question the blind faith of globalization and open border economics, which does not appear to jibe with the management at Huffington Post, are quickly buried and hard to find if available at all in a very short time. Meanwhile no shortage of Paris Hilton or other garbage posts that never seem to go away.

TV 'news' programs are crowing that Congress has a lower approval rating than Bush, but don't address the reason: - - it's amnesty. Their rating wasn't so bad before this failed amnesty travesty.

The amnesty debacle really angered a lot of constituents. Some legislators were reporting calls from constituents were 200:1 in opposition.
I'm still amazed (and angered) by Senator Feinstein's ass-holy comments claiming those opposing the Senate's Amnesty proposal were racists.
She didn't get my vote in the last election, and she'll never get my vote again. I will, however, vote for her opponent, and she will continue to get letters from me about my disagreement with her anti-American, anti-labor, pro-Corporatocracy votes and positions.
