You should have seen the rude display of emotion by Janet Murguia on CNN's "Lou Dobbs Tonight" last night....
I saw it, too. It was disgusting. Murquia's rant was one of the most hate-filled & fact-free tirades I've ever seen on TV. She was made a number of inferences that were completely false.
At least twice she claimed that the Minuteman's leader had been convicted of a violent crime, when in fact he had only been convicted of illegally carrying a firearm. That's a huge difference which Murquia refused to acknowledge in her tirade.
Murquia's only source of support for her pseudo-facts was the Southern Poverty Law Center. This is source that all the ethno-centric hate-groups use to support their claims. I've been attacked for online myself for opposing Amnesty and Open Borders (especially at Democratic Underground), by people using the Southern Poverty Law Center as their source of info.
From what I've read, the Southern Poverty Law Center center is the rough equivalent of the Cato Institute. But instead of being a Right-Wing stink tank and propagator of economic mythology, the SPLC is an ethno-centric stink tank, promoting racist mythology. Their major mission at present is to concoct rationale to falsely label those opposing illegal immigration as racist, bigots, & xenophobes.
I've had the SPLC's propaganda thrown at me in the past. Their opinions and views mean nothing whatsoever. In fact, if the SPLC hates you, you're probably doing something right. They don't care about the American people, or this country.
They push the agenda of those who illegally enter the country. And by default, they're advocates for cheap-labor lobby composed of both Corporate America, and the employers who illegally hire illegal immigrants.
As such, they stand in opposition to American workers, the American middle class, legal immigrants, law enforcement, and American law.
They stand in favor of continual wage suppression of American workers and legal immigrant workers. They stand side-by-side with the Chamber of Commerce, in its never ending desire to drive down the wages and living standards of American workers, and reduce them to the status of sharecroppers and indentured servants.
These are the special interests that the Southern "Poverty" Law Center serves.
Apparently their real mission is to promote "poverty", not alleviate it.
If that's the case, they're doing an outstanding job. More people are in Poverty than ever before. If the SPLC could just get another 20 million illegal immigrants into the country, they could rpush that number up even more. With enough contributions from Corporate America, the Chamber of Commerce, and others members of America's plutocratic elite, I'm sure they could accomplish that goal.
Good work SPLC.
Your long-term support to preserve poverty is appreciated. It has never been more impressive than it is today. The poor applaud you for helping maintain impoverishment, and swelling their ranks still further.
Most Americans can only dream of sleeping on a park bench, dining in a 4-star soup kitchen, and foraging through a dumpster for food. Thanks to the dedicated work of the SPLC, more Americans are now realizing that dream.
America's poor certainly appreciate the SPLC's help in obtaining food stamps and medical care, by helping suppress their wages enough to maintain eligibility for food stamps and Medicaid.
