I am really surprised we aren't hearing much or really anything from Perot's supporters. Perot made his famous statement that free trade would create a "giant sucking sound of jobs going overseas" and he was right.
You'd think we'd at least be hearing some "I told you so's".

That's a real good question. I think the Corporate-controlled media has done a great job of suppressing the bulk of anti-free trade commentary, and has misled the public into believing that all free trade is good, and any protectionism is bad, and that anyone who disagrees just "doesn't understand economics," or is a "left-wing wacko," or is one of those "psychotic" protectionists.
With few exceptions, the mainstream media is bent on suppressing any criticism of free trade, and even any discussion. The only comments allowed are along the lines of "everyone knows free trade is good," and anyone who disagrees "just doesn't understand."
This media blackballing of all anti-free trade comments may change with the new Congress. The media almost has to allow commentary from Congress. And many of the new Democrats appear to oppose free trade.
Only time will tell if we'll start hearing from Perot-ites, or at least from those that share Perot's views on free trade and outsourcing.

I don't know if you caught last night's McLaughlin Group, they had their year end awards, John McLaughlin gave the award for most undereported story of the year was the negative effect that globalization was having on the middle class. He also predicted we will be seeing more white collar outsourcing over the next year. It is now starting to hit the media, not quite mainstream but its a good sign. If it weren't for folks like Dobbs and Buchanan nobody would be talking about it.
Trade is good, provided its fair, balanced and benefits all involved in a real way, not just some BS talking point way. What its not is the be all and end all of the economy, you must keep some things at home.
But ya, if you dare discuss it you will feel the wrath of the ideologues, look at how they all call Dobbs a racist for suggesting that immigration law be enforced.
