In West Virginia a few weeks ago, Obama said his grandfather enlisted the day after Pearl Harbor was bombed, which was December, 1941. [Charleston Gazette (West Virginia) April 8, 2008, Tuesday, available on Lexis.com]. Here is the WWII Kansas Veterans Index. His grandfather, Stanley A. Dunham, enlisted in the Army on June 18 1942, six months after Pearl Harbor. www.kshs.org/genealogists/military/wwiiveteransresults.php?page=364&branch=AObama is a stupid liar who can not seem to tell the truth about his family. He should have anticipated that his opposition would find out his lies, but he lied anyways. Another Obama family lie exposed(grandpa this time!!)

Who cares if it was a day or six months? The point is he was moved by the event enough to enlist and defend his country and the world. He may have told his family the day after the attack what his plans were. Let's not miss the forest for the trees.
And yeah, we all know lots of "stupid" people graduate from Harvard with law degrees.

My neighbor went to enlist the day after Pearl Harbor. He wasn't inducted until February. BFD.

Just for the record, my own father was at Pearl Harbor when it was attacked by the Japanese. He was on a repair ship named the Medusa.
He was the 1st person who ever told me the Japanese had mini-subs at Pearl Harbor (something that was omitted from history books until about 10 or 20 years ago.) He knew about them Japanese subs because the Medusa was ordered to fire on them.
Obama needs to stop playing the "my uncle/father/grandfather did such-and-such during World War II". No one cares. No one's impressed. Many don't believe him.
All he's doing is demonstrating is his lack of clarity on specific details — just like he's done during his entire election campaign.
Does anyone know the story on Obama's mother? He seems to have forgotten about her.
