Barack Obama Quits Longtime Church Following Uproar (Update1) By Kim Chipman May 31 (Bloomberg) -- Barack Obama quit the Chicago church he's attended for more than two decades, according to campaign spokesman Robert Gibbs, following fresh criticism aroused by a guest pastor. Obama parted with Trinity United Church of Christ after comments made from the pulpit at by Michael Pfleger, a Catholic priest whose church is also on Chicago's South Side. Pfleger mocked Obama's Democratic rival, Hillary Clinton, suggesting she would be handed the nomination because she's white, according to a video of the service circulated on the Internet. Obama said last week that he was ``deeply disappointed'' by the comments. Obama's decision to leave the church follows months of adverse public reaction to comments made by his former pastor, the Reverend Jeremiah Wright. www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601070&sid=aqWu.H1XewVQ&refer=politicsWhat took Obama so long to quit church?

Obama probably only quit the black liberation theologist church because it was hurting him in the poles. I doubt he would have left his mentors which he stayed with for 20 years without a lot of negative press.
He based his entire campaign on his good judgement. If his judgement is so special, why did it take him over 20 to discover that he belonged to a black racist church and black against white racism is just as offensive as white against black?. Mr. I don't wear a flag lapel pin because it symbolises false patriotism and Mr. I can't quit my church because we are a tight knit group has now thrown his church under the same bus he threw his typical white grandmother and he has decided that wearing the flag lapel pin is, after all a good idea.
Obama himself said his three spiritual and moral mentors were Wright, Pflegler, and Meeks. All three are black-power extremists who publically revere Farrakhan and muslims, while denigrating whites, Jews, and America in general. Wright=Pflegler=Meeks=Farrakhan= Obama. Any white person who votes for Obama is a fool.

"I'm not denouncing the church and I'm not interested in people who want me to denounce the church," he said, adding that the new pastor at Trinity and "the church have been suffering from the attention my campaign has focused on them." For months, Obama has been hamstrung by the rhetoric of Wright, whose sermons blaming U.S. policies for the Sept. 11 attacks and calls of "God damn America" for its racism became fixtures on the Internet and cable news networks. Initially, Obama said he disagreed with Wright but portrayed him as a family member he couldn't disown. news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080601/ap_on_el_pr/obama;_ylt=AvyCfMi8fkW.JyNGq5WDQdWs0NUE
