She hasn't posted in a while. I miss her great posts! What a gal. Reckon she got laid off from her job? I'm missing her too. It did sound like she was close to being laid off. But I doubt that's caused her to post any less. If anything, she'd be posting more. Something else has probably happened. The most likely cause is something going wrong with her computer, or with her internet service (that's the biggest cause for me, at least.) Let's hope it's not health related. We should probably email her.

Hi y'all, I am ok, thanks for the concern. I am in Arizona visiting family, I was laid off for a few weeks so decided to take advantage of the time off. This is actually the first time I've had a chance to borrow someones computer to get on line in a while. It's strange I haven't even read the news or tv in over a week so I feel out of touch. The news was starting to get to me so I had to get away and recharge. Maybe some day I'll get mobile internet or a laptop. But it is good to take a break every now and then, reality can be so dang depressing sometimes. But I do miss all the great posts here. It's gonna take me a bit to catch up but when I get back home I will be posting some more. Thanks for the kind words and I will be back soon.

Good to hear from you, Judes. How's the snowbird population in Aridzona this year? More, or less?

Good to hear from you, Judes. Thanks for checking in.
I know how it is being on the road. I've sort of been on the road myself for the last 5 weeks.
I was able to get a cordless mouse and a plug in keyboard for the laptop I was using. But it's still harder to post when you're out of town.
Hopefully your layoff is only temporary.

Hi ya'll, I am back, it's good to be home. We had a great time in Arizona. I actually couldn't believe how busy some of the tourist spots were, like Tombstone, the snowbirds were there en masse apparantly. Seems like the restaurants and things were hopping, but I was told it had to do with the time of year. We did drive by quite a few subdivisions that were just stopped right in the middle of construction. My cousins call them ghost towns. It is weird, there are whole sections of new homes and neighborhoods, with no sign of life in them at all. It seems the real estate boom came to a screeching halt in AZ. Oh and we got stopped in a border patrol mobile check point, they looked in the car and asked if we were all citizens, we said yep and that was it. Boy have I got some catchin up to do on my reading here.

Hi ya'll, I am back, it's good to be home. We had a great time in Arizona....We did drive by quite a few subdivisions that were just stopped right in the middle of construction. My cousins call them ghost towns. It is weird, there are whole sections of new homes and neighborhoods, with no sign of life in them at all. It seems the real estate boom came to a screeching halt in AZ. I have an in-law who owns land in AZ and says that the property has been reassessed at a higher rate than previously--by about 6-fold. Sure doesn't sound like there's any justification for reassessing property values upward, if there are so many vacant and partially constructed homes. It seems like the demand for land and homes is declining in AZ, which certainly doesn't fit with a higher property value assessment.

yeah, ULC I don't understand that either. Seems land prices have some catching up to do with the real estate crash still.
