Big Pharma is run by evil people who should shot dead. And so should those in power and the media who support them as well.
I have a family member who is on dialysis and he can't afford to take the full dosage of Phoslo and can't even afford Sensipar. For him to take the full dosage of Phoslo(2 pills 3x a day) would cost $320.00 a month and that doesn't include the HMO deductions and monthly fees. He has a $295.00 a year deductible $24 a month HMO fee + $96 a month taken out of Social Security for Medicare part D.
BTW Phoslo(Calcium acetate ) is the cheapest of the phosperous binders out there. The others are 2-3x as much
And forget about Sensipar, unless you have a nice fat state workers compensation plan, it's out of reach.
I can't help because I'm only working 3 days a week.
Every time I see Obama and those filthy Democrats speak about how there gonna help us with Healthcare reform it makes me want to puke. Those elitist SOB's aren't going to help anyone but themselves.

There is so much corruption in Big Pharma that it staggers the imagination.
Pravastatin, the safest of the cholesterol-lowering medications, can be had for about $5-10/month. In contrast, heavily advertised, Irish-made Lipitor costs a cash-paying patient $80-120/month. That's because Lipitor (Atorvastatin) is still on patent, while pravastatin is not.
People should check with their doctors and pharmacists as much as possible about the costs of the drugs they buy. The insurance plan they save may be their own.
