I was surprised to read such and honest article in an MSM publication. It sites MBG Information Services' Charles McMillion, not the typical globalist shill economist usually sited in the MSM. www.nytimes.com/2010/08/10/opinion/10herbert.htmlA paragraph that stands out - "We’ve got more and more people in our working-age population and fewer and fewer jobs to go around. Mr. McMillion tells us that there are now 3.4 million fewer private-sector jobs in the U.S. than there were a decade ago. In the last 10 years, we’ve seen the worst job creation record since 1928 to 1938." It's refreshing to see a paper like the Times give Americans the truth about what is happening to their economy. Now, if only they would be honest about wars, the rising police state, and the robber barons on Wall Street.

Good article by Bob Herbert. The final paragraph is one that should be quoted and sent to the White House and Congress: [/i]"[/ul] More and more articles are suggesting the possibility of political instability in the future. It's time for our Corporatist government to stop worrying about the top 1%, and start worrying about the remaining 99% of us.

I don't believe the PTB is very worried about things degenerating, after all they have a large well seasoned army of mercenaries ready and willing to take care of us riff raff and rabble.
They'll brush aside any of us little discontents pretty easily, then the mask will come off and we won't need msm to tell us how deep we've sunk.
So long boys it's been good to know ye.

The MSM as a whole will never wake up, because it's a organ of the boss class. What does happen is you get some guy(like Dylan Ratigan) whose conscience wakes up and he rails against the PTB.
And his voice is usually drowned out by other asshats.
Even when society goes ballistic against the ruling class, it will not be televised nor discussed at all much like the economic depression we're in now. That's not TV's job. Their job is to pacify and distract us while a bunch of rich creeps pick our pockets and take our rights.
