Capital gains should be taxed at the same rate - or higher than wages.

Capital gains should be taxed at the same rate - or higher than wages. Amen. The reduction of capital gains taxes vs. wage income taxes is one of the biggest inequities in our tax code. In theory, it's probably the most counterproductive. Is it really helpful to reduce taxes on wealth increase through asset inflation? Wouldn't it stimulate production more to reduce taxes on labor that produces the goods for production sales, rather than on non-productive assets such as homes and financial assets? This is one tax break that was designed exclusively to reward rich campaign contributors--not to spur economic growth.
