Preparing for food price increases - 2nd freezer
I bought a 21 cubic foot freezer, energy star, frost free. Now we will have 2 freezers for a transition period. We have cut our food costs for the 5 of us by stocking up on bargain sales. By the way, our electricity is free (thanks to our home solar electric system that runs a surplus).

The 2nd freezer made my wife very happy. (she goes by the nick name of Olie, 'A Happy Wife Is A Happy Life'. Hence my screen name jeff + olie = jeffolie. We are together forever in marital bliss.)

Be careful with the bargain sales. I saw "farm raised" frozen tilapia for low price at Stater's. Looking closely, "Made in China."
Yeh, and raised in polluted water laden with antibiotics, pesticides, heavy metals, etc. I'm surprised they didn't label it "enhanced and fortified."

Be careful with the bargain sales. I saw "farm raised" frozen tilapia for low price at Stater's. Looking closely, "Made in China." This makes me glad that I don't like fish. On a somewhat related note, Advil brand of Ibuprofen no longer bears the label "made in USA," as it had previously. (I kind wonder if they hadn't stopped making it in the US long before they changed the label). I'm making this point because I had previously reported here that Advil was made in the USA. Apparently this is no longer the case. So given that there are no brands of Ibuprofen made in the USA, buyers should just go ahead and buy the cheapest generic available.
