What the heck, did I just hear what I thought I heard?? Watching CNN just flipping through and Donald Trump just slammed the Chinese, he said we don't have free trade with them we have unfair trade. He said he'd put a 25% tax on Chinese goods immediately to get them in line. What??? Now there are a lot of things I can't stand about the Don but I think I agree with the tax if he means tariff. Wow, it shocked me to hear that, not something I'd expect to hear from him.

If he's serious, I may have to revise my overwhelmingly negative view of him. Well, maybe a little, at least.

I stumbled onto it when he said he never smoked or drank or did drugs, but he loves women. He's my kind of guy.

I agree ULC, and he did sound amazingly protectionist, and this on main stream media CNN, on the Piers Morgan show (sp), the host seemed a bit uncomfortable too at the Donalds protectionist anti China talk.

Gotta agree with Judes, Morgan looked pretty uncomfortable when Trump started to go anti-China. Though he got a lot of cheers from the stage workers when he said that the Chinese PM didn't deserve a state dinner but a trip to McDonalds.
And BTW it's just not Morgan either. I saw the same thing when Ali Veshi interviewed the Mayor of Lansing Mich about a year ago. And when the mayor started slamming NAFTA and off-shoring for his state's and nation's economic problems Veshi got visibly nervous and cut him off about a minute later.
All in all I'd say the mandarin talking heads are all pro-globalist(and why shouldn't they be since they owe their careers to being propagandists for them). And they saw what happens to those who don't - they end up kicked to the curb like Lou Dobbs.

Trump speech at CPAC
There is a very loud vocal minority within the ranks of the Republican Party; the Ronulans, those Libertarians (trade liberals) who hijacked the leadership of the Republican Party decades ago.
In this video the Ronulans are the hecklers and cocksuckers in the back of the room, they are useful idiots to the oligarchs here at home and foreign. They must be silenced, kicked out of the Republican Party, and thoroughly neutered. Forget the Democratic Party, they have been run by corrupt oligarchs since the beginning of this country's history and have never done anything right. This is why I remain registered in the Republican Party.
As far as the rest of the CONS in the audience is concerned, they're only cheering Trump cause he's rich. If anyone else had made a speech at CPAC calling for Tariffs, that wasn't a billionaire, they would have been boo'ed by everyone. It's pathetic really. But so far Trump is the only one calling for Tariffs.
_________________________
It's the damn Libertarians who have ruined the Republican Party, and they're still at it. These fucking losers have no clue that they can never win, especially now after the full brunt of these FTA's are being felt.
-Ron Paul got 1 million votes in the Republican primaries. He's a mega free-trader, he would lower US tariffs to zero "regardless of what other nations do". That is worse then FTA's like NAFTA.
-Pat Buchanan got 3 million votes in the Republican Primaries in 1992. Before the destruction of NAFTA, in 1992, and we were all tricked into believing in Free Trade he still managed 3 million votes.
-Ross Perot got 20 million votes as an Independent in 1992, without a political party. Again this was in 1992, before we felt the effects of NAFTA, and we were all tricked into believing in Free Trade.
Ever since Ross Perot and Pat Buchanan, there has been no serious challenge to Free Trade politicians, not since 1992.
The Libertarian, Ayn Rand cultists, druggies, and neo-Confederates have ALWAYS only gotten between 500,000 and 1 million votes in every single presidential election since the Libertarian Party was formed in the 1970's, NO EXCEPTIONS!

Wo I had no idea Trump was such a protectionist. Thanks for posting those links Fredorbob, I didn't know he was considering running either. While I can't say there is much else I like about Trump, if he is serious about putting tariffs on cheap labor imports, that may be enough to sway me to vote for him. It is my number one concern and in my opinion trade problems "Trump" all other problems facing this nation. (pun intended)

We're screwed, heading for total economic collapse. Nobody in power is talking about the trade deficit.
We can deal with a national debt, and war, but we cannot survive without jobs/manufacturing/production.
Total Economic Collapse

Saw Trump on Regis today, he's got his rant down and was very similar to previous rants.
China is ripping the US off, taking our jobs, taking our industry. Doesn't blame the Chinese and says he'd do the same thing if allowed, the problem is here.
Oil prices skyrocketing will result in $5 gas and cripple the US. Disgusted and says without our Military protection they wouldn't even exist.
Unemployment is 21%, not 9%. The US is the laughing stock of the World. We are in serious trouble.
Will announce if he's going to run at the end of June.
They are pregnant, congrats to them.
Not sure about his stance on the revolving door between Wall Street and DC, but he's the only one talking about some major problems and knows something needs to be done. He's a shoe in if he decides to run IMO. I sure wish he'd use the "T" word.

Doesn't blame the Chinese and says he'd do the same thing if allowed, the problem is here. If the Chinese Government were simply using protectionism to industrialize to bring their people into the 1st world then you couldn't blame them. But China isn't some enlightened Democracy, it is a Communist Oligarchy. Their goal isn't to bring their people into the 1st world, it is to create their own "Arsenal of Oligarchy" (as opposed to the Arsenal of Democracy that won WW2, you know what I mean).
