I keep hearing stories about how jobs are moving to the red states, the blue states are dying, and unemployment is lower, people are fleeing Blue states for Red states, etc.
How much of this is really true? And why?
I sense that this is at best a temporary bump for the Reds, and that an ugly moment of reckoning is coming for them. But I can't quite substantiate that feeling.

I suspect it's a temporary bump for one reason or another and perhaps some bullshit statistics thrown in.
I would like to know what sort of jobs and what numbers are being created down there. So far I haven't see any sort of detail on this at all. All I've seen is GOP talking points stating that Red states are doing better.

Some people think Texas is a better place for businesses, but they have a $12 Billion budget problem, in spite of all the oil companies there.

Indiana gov Mitch Daniles touts that Indiana is in better shape than its neighbors
looking closely at this however, the main reason is he sold off state asset the toll road to a spanish consortium, outsourced key govt functions, made draconian cuts to social programs, education and on and on from the righty playbook. Also made the states property tax system more regressive shifting the burden from newer more expesnive home owners and businesses to owners of older homes who saw their property tax increase 30% or more
Daniels always likes to tout that this new business and that will create this many jobs and that, but no one ever accounts for if the jobs ever actually materialize - critics of this get squelched. Daniels no where to be found at major plant closings like when Whirlpool shipped 3000 jobs to mexico

Ok it makes sense now. He gutted his state to make short term gains but ruined his state longer term.
People like him need to be hung from the nearest telephone poll.
