Elon Musk was started this type business, then joined with others to form paypal for the express purpose of selling it to ebay. Ebay paid $1.2Billion. If you can, watch Bloomberg's "Game Changer" and "Risk Taker" series.
Musk's other risks: Zip2, sold to Compaq Solar City: started with two cousins Tesla Cars: the one that will drag him down. SpaceX: big NASA contract to supply the space station.

I'm surprised no one else sees any interest in this.
The Ayn Rand crowd has done a vastly disproportionate amount of damage to society in comparison with their numbers. John Galt talked at length about how the world would not function if he and his kind "went on strike". This is the crowd - John Galt's worshippers - that the Libertarian island appeals directly to!
We could get maybe a dozen of these John Galts on that island. Maybe get the Bildebergers or another group of powerful plutocrats to meet there. All in one. Convenient. Place.
Boom.

Since there are no "Free Trade" agreements with this guy, we can put 200% Tariffs on any products or services he sells in the US.
And since he's outside of the US, if someone attacks him and steals everything he and his co-morons own, there's nothing we can (or should) do about it.
And since he's very close to US-claimed waters, we can refuse entry to him and his ilk into US sovereign waters.
This is typical Right-wing libertarian crap. This guy wants all of the benefits of this country (i.e., access to our consumer markets), but none of the constraints or obligations normally required of an entity accessing our markets.

Worse yet the hyper selfish residents may kill themselves.
