They won't last much longer in office. If they do, their austerity dreams will result in economic collapse - the resulting anarchy will NOT be a good scenario for the Plutocrats.

I'm surprised to see Peter DeFazio's name on the list. But otherwise, the group of Democrats that signed are overall a bunch of pro-Free Traitors, who go along with Republicans when it comes to sending jobs overseas, and who supported (and will again support) Wall Street bank bailouts. This obsession with debt really has nothing to do with concerns about the debt. It's about pre-emptively preventing tax increases on the rich in the future. These are tax increases that are guaranteed to come eventually, if the rich can come up with some phony plan that alleges to reduce the deficit, and thus the need to raise taxes on the rich. All of this is really just another tax-cut plan for the rich, disguised as a deficit reduction plan. They aren't concerned about the deficit. They're concerned about their taxes. And they're hoping to inject privatization schemes into the alleged solution, so they can continue to siphon off middle class taxpayers' money and put it in their own pockets. Privatizing Medicare and Social Security are classic examples. ----------------- There was also a reference in the article to a site I hadn't heard of, that actually shows populist-leaning ways to cut the deficit. www.jobparty.us/end_corp_welfare

I hope you are right jacq on them not lasting long, but the problem is every election offers two or more bad choices to pick from. I am so hoping a viral campaign call to write in a non political populist on the presidential ticket can spread like wild fire. What are the election laws around this, if a majority of people write in a candidate not even running for office can they become president, does anyone know? Because we could start spreading the message with the occupy movement to write someone in, I suggest Matt Taibbi or Dylan Ratigan or Bill Black (has an advantage in an easy name to spell or Elizabeth Warren or some other person on the peoples side, picking someone strongly against outsourcing would be the best choice. That was a good link Ulc, I missed that in the original article, all good ideas listed there!
