Gas prices trend down, oil prices trend up: enigma
Yes, the year over year comparison for gas prices are much higher. The recent trends reflect lower American driving than expected resulting in the supply/demand recent gas prices trending down; while, gas exports reach new higher levels to sell off the excess gas without flooding America with a closed system, market.
The gasoline industry got it wrong and many bloggers & columnists supply different presentations why. For example, teens have deferred driving into much later & many do not even get driver's licenses postponing driving while presenting themselves to their friends online rather than in person. For example, millions dropped out the labor market resulting in not driving to work plus having less money for casual driving trips.
