For the record, I have nothing to do with the McCain ads. I strongly dislike him. I'll never vote for him. EVER.
Unfortunately, I cannot control the ads placed at the top of the forum.
The forum is free of charge. In exchange for it being free, the service is allowed to place ads at the top. It would actually cost money to have the ads removed.

Yes, I read your comment. You were right on target. I want to make sure that if someone happens to come to this site, they don't get the wrong idea right away. I think I'm going to need to keep bumping this forward, or even "sticky" it.

we know you have no control over the banner ads Thank you. Today I saw an Ann Coulter ad at the top of the forum. Needless to say, I hate Ann Coulter and I had nothing to do with the ad. And this further proves that we've got a lot of people in this country (like McCain & Coulter) that have more money than they know what to do with. Both should be paying a lot more in taxes. And we very much need to strive for public financing of elections, as well as strict spending limits, which would reduce the total money spent on campaigning to a fraction of what it currently is. The never-ending influx of Corporate money into campaign advertising is dis-informing voters. The result is that voters know less about the candidates than they would if campaign spending was limited to a fraction of the current amount. We don't need any more "salesmanship" from candidates. We need short, clean, concise statements of facts and positions. With the exception of Kucinich, and to a lesser extent Edwards, none of the Democrats have any clear-cut positions on anything. With the Republicans, only Ron Paul has stated clear positions on most issues, though Duncan Hunter has been pretty clear about opposing manufacturing job loss, unrestricted free trade, and illegal immigration.

Oh look, it's an election year and McCain's all suddenly against illegal immigration.
What a freaking.....politician.

If you really dislike him, click his ads. Everytime you do, the mccain campaign has to pay that much more to the advertising company that is placing the ad. Making him pay for the attention of a voter he'll never get is one way to hurt him.

Ah, just use an ad blocker and quit whining. I will not be treated to a glimpse of any of Juan's banners. One thing I do find interesting is the "ad copy" security check. Never saw that before, might be a good way to raise a few bucks for maintainance.

Ah, just use an ad blocker and quit whining. I avoid downloading as many programs as possible, even the seemingly beneficial and benign, so I don't get AntiVirus2009 again. If you ever had AntiVirus2009, you'd have the fear of god in you.

I think I had that one. Isnt that the one where fake virus scan screens keep popping up telling you that you are infected and need to purchase some product to fix it "or else"? I ised to just close out the av.exe program by opening the program manager. Eventualy the problem went away as I evidently overwrote whatever was hosting the stupid thing to begin with. Viruses are just another pesky part of life that you learn to live with.
