Another Republican Congressman may be have to resign due to corruption. This time it is AZ Congressman Renzi. Below is an excerpt from the article titled Replacements waiting in wings as Renzi ponders resignation. " Embattled Arizona Republican Congressman Rick Renzi may resign from office in the wake of a federal investigation into his involvement in land-swap deal and an FBI raid on an Arizona insurance business owned by his wife.
Renzi told The Hill newspaper in Washington, D.C., this week that he was considering stepping down.
Democrats are looking to oust Renzi and some top Republicans in the state, who asked not be identified, are talking about the possibly of Renzi's resignation.
The Hill also reported that the federal inquiry is focused on possible nondisclosure of a $200,000 payment made to Renzi by a business partner involved in the land swap. The Wall Street Journal reports that a grand jury has been convened in Tucson to look into Renzi's actions...." They just can't help themselves, to be repubublican is to have the predispostion to shady dealings Yes indeed. Below is a partial list from the Howling Latina Blogspot of Republican crooks. " 2A. The White House's procurement officer David Safavian--in prison. 2B. Bob Ney, the #2 House of Rep leader, in prison. 2C. Steven Grilles, the #2 at Interior, in prison. 2D. Kyle Dusty Foggo the #3 at CIA facing an indictment in connection with the MZM scandal. 2E. Randy Duke Cunningham, in prison for being involved in the largest congressional corruption scandal in U.S. history. 2F. Rick Renzi, under investigation in Arizona (maybe he stays, maybe not). 2G. (Florida Congressman) Feeney, now facing his share of problems. 2H. Jerry Lewis of California, under investigation in connection with the MZM scandal. 2I. Rep. Doolittle of California, house recently raided by the FBI. 2J. Rep. Don Young from Alaska also under investigation in connection with the Abramoff scandal. 2K. Michael Scanlon, Tom Delay's one time chief of staff, in prison. 2L. Tony Rudy, another DeLay staff who plead guilty to conspiracy charges in reference to the Abramoff scandal." This isn't a complete list, and certainly not a final list, as the investigations continue.

Why isn't that crook DeLay in prison yet? Let us not forget the 22 indicted Reagan administration officials in Iran Contra. Or the Grandaddy of republican crookedness, the standard by which all others are judged, Watergate. Although Watergate seems pretty quaint in comparison to some of the more recent scandals. You know the irony is that I find myself in agreement with much of the true conservative message - less govt intrusion in our daily lives, fiscal responsibility, border security, avoidance of foreign entanglements, LEGAL immigration etc.. I just could never vote for them due to having no stomach for the republican culture of corruption and hypocrisy. The modern "republicrits" stand for none of these core conservative issues in reality.

You might like John Dean's book, "Conservatives without Conscience," that is mentioned every time he appears on Olbermann. He has also written, "Worse than Watergate."
