It just cracks me up how 83 percent of so called economists can support "Free Trade" It is not fair nor free. I love how in my one Economics book written by Greg Mankiw, everything is biased toward supply side, pro free trade B.S. I guess that is what you get from a guy how was a chief economic advisor to Bush.
This I believe would be demand economics what I am suggesting. Instead of throwing workers into sweatshops to pad ones bottom line, how about a novel company idea would be to hire 100 or so workers at wages 5 to 10 times what they would make in other sweatshops in these 3rd world nations? Give the workers paid overtime, fair job treatment, and potential for advancement. This would encourage the workers to be more productive and make products that are not of the junk variety. Other companies would have to follow suit or risk losing their workers to these companies, knowing many happy well paid workers are making decent money, and in turn buying more goods and services in said country. This would lead to a growth and income surge in other secondary job fields.

You got that right Ryan.
Mankiw was infamous for his "outsorucing is good for the economy" statement during his tenure as a Bush top economic adviser
