Today's paper published the latest top ten brutal dictator list.
China's Hu Jintao moved up a couple notches from last year to the number 4 spot, right behind such pillars of humanity like Kim Jong Il and Iran's dictator.
Jintao is cited for human rights violations such as forced labor, forced abortion, religious persecution, summary executions, weapons sales to hostile regimes, media manipulation and many others.
Just exactly the kind of people we should not trust to be doing business with, and that the rub, because of outsourcing and "free" trade the western economies have become so intertwined with this communist regime we have no choice but to ignore his brutal human rights record.
I fail to understand the right's vigorous defense of China in light of the hypocrisy of the fact that besides communism being the polar opposite of capitalism, they had weapons sales to our enemies, forced abortions and religious persecution. But of course principle for the liberal/neocons goes right out the window when $$$$$ is involved.

But of course principle for the liberal/neocons goes right out the window when $$$$$ is involved. Exactly. Communist countries provide huge amounts of cheap, exploitable, semi-slave labor for Corporate America to tap into, thus increasing their profit margins by reducing labor costs. The Right's only true "ideology" is that anything that increases short-term profits is good, and anything reducing them is bad. Their ideology has nothing to do with "freedom" or "free markets," and everything to do with profits.
