Yeah, right! US, China Say Must Work TogetherBEIJING (AP) - The United States and China, with increasingly dependent economies, have to work together to fight protectionist sentiment in both countries, officials from the countries said Monday.
The comments came on the eve of high-level meetings this week between U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson and Chinese officials at which China's massive trade surplus with the U.S. and its product safety record are expected to be key issues. money.aol.com/news/articles/_a/us-china-say-must-work-together/n20071210071209990056

Is it possible for "Hu" Paulson to be any less concerned about the well being of US workers and US based mfrs? These trade delegates are nothing less than traitors. Whose side are they on? Paulson does nothing but cave to chinese interests every time he goes there. They need our markets more than we need their poor quality and unsafe crap.
If there is any "working together" to be done its among US small business and mfrs, US workers, labor and labor leaders and others of populist leanings to get together and vote out ALL pro free trade politicians regardless of party. And we need to work together to stop this framing of wanting fair trade and smart trade as "protectionist" they are NOT the same thing

They need our markets more than we need their poor quality and unsafe crap.... That's it exactly. China's GDP would decline over $230 billion if they lost all trade with the US. And our trade deficit would decline by the same amount. China is far more dependent on the U.S. than we are on them. The U.S. can manufacture every single thing we get from China. But China can't replace $230 billion added to its GDP from it's US trade surplus. Amen.
