I've found both a paper Gold fund (GLD) and a paper Silver (SLV). Both rise and fall in tandem with Gold and Silver spot prices. As a result, both can be substituted for the prices of gold and silver, and can be put on the same graph. Below is a graphic of 2008 silver prices from Kitco, followed by a graphic of SLV prices from Yahoo Finance. Note the nearly identical pattern between Silver spot prices on the top, and paper silver (SLV) on the bottom. This allows for placing both paper metal funds on the same graph for comparison. finance.yahoo.com/q/bc?s=SLV&t=1y&l=on&z=m&q=l&c=GLD
