Below is 2-month graphic showing the price changes in Gold (GLD), Silver (SLV), Platinum (PGM), the Dow Jones (DJI), the 10-year Treasury (^TNX), and the Treasury Bond fund TRUSX (TRUSX). (TRUSX values rise as Treasury Yields fall. The change in TRUSX is usually the negative of ¼ the change in the 10-year yield--i.e., if the Treasury yield falls -40%, TRUSX rises about +10%) Below is the link to the above graph. The time frame can be changed to 1 day, 5d, 1-month, 2m, 3m....up to 9m. And then can be changed to 1 year, 2 year, and 5y. (Note: TRUSX will not graph for any period less than 1-month.) ichart.finance.yahoo.com/z?s=%5EDJI&t=2m&q=l&l=on&z=m&c=GLD,SLV,PGM,%5ETNX,TRUSX&a=v&p=sOther stocks can also be inserted using the following link: finance.yahoo.com/q/bc?t=5d&s=% 5EDJI&l=on&z=m&q=l&c=GLD%2CSLV%2CPGM%2C%5ETNX%2CTRUSX

I thought it might be useful to post some additional links to stocks, bonds, and precious metals--to show long term trends and short term trends. These graphics and links come from money central at MSN. Below is the 10-year trend between the Dow, Gold (via paper GLD), and TRUSX *( TRUSX is an exclusively Treasury Bond fund, whose price increases with increased demand for Treasuries--which is the inverse of yields. For a 4% decline in the Treasury yield, TRUSX increases about +1%. For example, if the Treasury yield declines from 5.0% to 4.8%--which is a -4% decline in the yield--it increases the price of TRUSX by +1%) 10 year Graphic Dow/TRUSX/GLD (Silver & Platinum were not included due to the short duration of existence of their respective ETFs) Here's the link to the above 10-year MSN graphic: moneycentral.msn.com/investor/charts/chartdl.aspx?symbol=%24INDU%2CGLD%2CTRUSXNote how the Dow is down, even over the long-term. So much for the myth that if you hold onto a stock long enough, it will eventually gain. If you bought into the Dow 10 years ago and held on, you lost big-time. And remember that these prices don't even take inflation into account, which deflated the current value by another -25 to -35%. Below is a 1-year graphic showing price comparisons between the Dow, Gold (GLD), Silver (SLV), Platinum (PGM), and TRUSX Here's the link to the above 1-year chart: Dow Gold Silver TRUSX Platinum moneycentral.msn.com/investor/charts/chartdl.aspx?symbol=%24INDU%2cGLD%2cTRUSX%2cSLV%2cPGM&CP=0&PT=71 month graphic (1 month is the shortest graphic available for TRUSX) Dow Gold Silver TRUSX Platinum 1 month link Dow Gold Silver TRUSX Platinum moneycentral.msn.com/investor/charts/chartdl.aspx?symbol=%24INDU%2cGLD%2cTRUSX%2cSLV%2cPGM&CP=0&PT=3These charts can all be changed for different time periods. If you go to the link, you can insert different ticker symbols. (Note, the best place to insert other ticker symbols is near the top of the page on the extreme right, which usually isn't visible unless you scroll to the right of the page.)
