Does anyone else get the feeling that the media is purposely trying to incite and scare the public purposely on this whole flu thing? It just seems they are going out of their way to scare imo.

Kind of like the Year 2000 scare? Which turned out to be no big deal.
I think they over-emphasize certain news items because most of our news is "sanitized". We can't be told the plain truth on so many things, that it leaves very little to report.
Bored reporters end up beating certain stories to death. For example, the Octomom story. I think they've wrung the last drop of blood out of that one.

I expect that the significant impact of the Mexican Flu will not arrive until the beginning of the new flu season in the start of 2010.

I could see that happening, Jeffolie. Right now it's spreading, but if/when it mutates . . .well, that's why the experts are in such a pinch. If swine flu mutates so that people catch it faster and the symptoms are much more severe (especially before a vaccine is developed), then there will be big problems.
