from Examiner.com: LA PoliticsObama lies to defend US War of Aggression in AfghanistanWednesday, August 19, 2009 by Carl Herman " The President of the US swears to “faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.” The Supremacy Clause of the Constitution (article VI, paragraph 2) states: “This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land.” One of the most important treaties is that governing when a nation may go to war. After 20th century wars that killed over 100 million human beings, the UN was formed to eliminate war as a foreign policy option The UN Charter is registered in the US State Department as a Treaty in Force.
Therefore, one of the most important Constitutional duties of any US President is to follow the law to not unleash the world’s most powerful destructive force and to defend innocent civilians from such onslaught and misery. This is also one of the most important laws for citizens to understand and hold their political leadership accountable for ethical behavior and demand prosecution in its violation. On August 17, 2009 President Obama again defended the US invasion of Afghanistan. He called it “fundamental to the defense of our people,” and said, “But we must never forget this is not a war of choice, this is a war of necessity"...." I think many of us would beg to differ.

Its not all Obama's fault.
Before Obama became Preznit, Reid and Pelosi controlled Congress and the first thing they did after winning in '06 was to continue to endorse and fund Bush-Cheney policies.
Obama being the gutless wonder and uber corporate tool that he is, won't doesn't have the fortitude nor intelligence to realize our presence in Afghanistan is doomed to failure.
And of course those idiot generals won't tell him the truth because those men are some of the biggest liars and sociopaths the world has ever known. You don't become a general without sacrificing every attribute that makes a man a decent human being with a modicum of compassion and intelligence.
Then you have the Righties, those tens of millions of brainless followers of Jeebus and Limbaugh, who hadn't read a book since High School and couldn't find Central Asia on a map who actually believe we're winning in Afghanistan. And who will go insane with rage if we pull out.
The only way our imperial adventures will come to a end is a outright bankruptcy or if a Paki nukes ends deep frying our forces in theater.
