I've never been more impressed with a TV commentator than I was with Rachel Maddow tonight.
Maddow interviewed Dept. of Health Secretary Sebelius on MSNBC. She asked this classic Obamacrat multiple good questions, which Sebelius side-stepped in typical Obamanesque fashion—acknowledging and elaborating on a problem, but refusing to answer any of the questions asked.
But despite the multiple unanswered questions to Sebelius, Rachel really shined when she started lobbying—yes, lobbying—for the Public Option. Rachel literally made the case to Sebelius at least 3 separate times as to why the Public Option was necessary.
Rachel was EXCELLENT on this point. She was making THE case to someone who could actually do something about it, and she continued making the point again and again, and in multiple different ways. It was excellent.
HOORAY FOR RACHEL MADDOW!! ;D ;D

I still haven't seen that segment, but diarists are already trumpeting it on dkos. My problem is that I expect a walkback from the administration tomorrow.
Still drawing a politician out and having them admit to a reality is a win for any journalist, so props to rachel on that.
