The Great One has once again implied that fraudulent doctors are a big part of the health care problem, despite total annual physician wages being less than $100 billion.
But today he took his ass-holiness to a new level, signing an executive order to increase funds for increased auditing of doctors. Apparently more documentation, more prosecution, and less time spent with patients is Obama's "solution" to health care reform.

Obama Takes Health-care Pitch To Missouri
By Robert Schroeder
"President Barack Obama took his pitch for a health-care overhaul to Missouri on Wednesday, telling a crowd in St. Charles that he's making a new push to go after fraud in the health system. Obama signed an [executive] order on Wednesday expanding use of private auditors who uncover improper payments in government health programs, he said. He also kept up his attack on rising insurance premiums, saying "that's the future if we fail to act.""
Some may not be aware that a medical fraud investigation can be launched at any time for any reason by the Justice Dept. And they can take it to a Grand Jury and very easily obtain an indictment. There is a saying in the legal profession that "a Grand Jury will indict a ham sandwich." That certainly applies when it comes to a nebulous, poorly defined health care fraud accusation.
And if a physician is indicted, he will easily have to spend $100's of thousands of dollars to defend himself to avoid going to jail. And since health care fraud is a Federal criminal offense, it carries a mandatory prison sentence. A health care fraud conviction is a felony, and will easily net a convicted physician 7-10 years in the Federal penitentiary.
And again, if a physician wants to avoid prison time when falsely charged for health care fraud, he needs to shell out the 100's of thousands of dollars necessary to defend himself in Federal court.
And if doesn't he doesn't spend the money to defend himself, he better get used to wearing an orange jumpsuit.
