Who has the true True Religion? 20,000 pairs of counterfeit True Religion jeans seized August 20, 2010 | 3:06 pm Federal customs agents Friday discovered a shipping container at the Port of Long Beach full of more than 20,000 pairs of counterfeit True Religion designer jeans. The men's jeans from China were shipped to Long Beach, where customs agents examined the container and found the items to be illegal knockoffs, said Tracy Cormier, an agent with Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Los Angeles. The True Religion label on each pair of jeans was covered with another label that read, “Tough–Made in the USA” in an attempt to fool the agents, she said. Agents allowed the container through customs and followed the shipment to a Los Angeles warehouse, where police officers arrested Wook Kweon Hyo, Cormier said. He was charged with one count of trademark infringement. The jeans had a street value of roughly $1.5 million, Cormier said. -- Sam Quinones latimesblogs.latimes.com/lanow/2010/08/20000-pairs-of-counterfeit-designer-jeans-seized-in-long-beach-shipping-container.html

My wife loves True Religion jeans and is constantly trying to get a bargain from online stores. True Religion jeans retail at about $350.

Oh man some the clothes are a hoot! The trilby cap for hipsters(that's one group no one will ever think does anything other than get loaded and lay around all day), the jackets that look like they were designed by Liberace.
But damn if there isn't a market for this make believe blue collar clothing to be worn by the well to do lot. Hell I get a person cremated cheaper than buying a ensemble of faux blue collar clothes at this joint.
Reminds me of the garbage the French nobility did before they lost their heads - dressing up as peasants to amuse each other and mock the peasants in the process.
Won't shed a tear when the counterfeiters take them out for good.

It's poetic justice that some traitorous American company that uses Chinese slave-labor is losing money from someone counterfeiting their already Chinese-made products.
I applaud the counterfeiters, and hope they destroy the market for all of these major, brand-name products that are made in China or other cheap labor havens.
Counterfeiting would have never become a major problem without the outsourcing of American production to foreign countries.

This is nothing compared to the technology given away to the Commies. A knockoff Chevy or Dell is a lot bigger deal than denim.
100% inspection of imports - paid by the importers.

Funny thing about True Religion they have no factories of their own either here or in Mexico(which produces most of their non-jean products).
The jeans are produced by two Korean textile outfits in Los Angeles and then branded with the True Religion logo. Which is also a great way to lose quality control and let counterfeiters get access to your product line.
In short they are just a branding company - basically some marketing guys in a office.
Good riddance to bad rubbish.
